Fueling Your City of Irving Vehicle

Effective August 1, 2016

  1. Place your City of Irving ID Badge over the pump’s card reader.
  2. Press the “F3” button.
  3. Enter all five digits of your vehicle (example: 06172), and then push the “OK” button.
  4. Enter the current odometer reading, and push the “OK” button.
  5. Begin fueling.

ID Badge Does Not Activate Pumps

If a user’s ID badge does not activate the pump, the badge numbers must be entered manually.

  1. Press the “F3” button.
  2. Enter “173” followed by the last 5 digits on the back of your city-issued ID (example: 17324654). Push the “OK” button.
  3. Select the “F3” button again.
  4. Enter all five digits of your vehicle (example: 06172), and then push the “OK” button.
  5. Enter the current odometer reading, and push the “OK” button.
  6. Begin fueling.

In the Event of an Emergency

Call (972) 721-2262 to report any issue to Fuel Operations during regular business hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Nonemergency questions can be email Fuel Operations; you should receive a reply before the close of business.

Possible Errors

  • ID badge will not read.
    • Call Fuel Operations to ensure your badge is listed in Gasboy.
    • If Fuel Operations determines the badge number is OK, use the badge on a door access point to check operability,
    • If the badge opens the door, follow the manual badge entry instructions to begin fueling. The badge will not be replaced because it can still be used to manually pump fuel.
    • Employees can receive a new badge at their own cost if they choose badge replacement.
  • Vehicle number will not read.
    • Call Fuel Operations to ensure your vehicle number is listed in Gasboy.
  • Mileage number will not accept.
    • Call Fuel Operations to update your mileage.

It is imperative the correct odometer reading for the vehicle is entered. The new fueling system will not operate without the vehicle’s correct odometer reading.
